Dear Juno,

Your story, and passage through pregnancy was truly courageous and inspiring. In the beginning I thought it would have been your best option to abort the child, and avoid the trouble of a teen pregnancy. You, being a 16-year-old, not having any real stability in your life would not have created a very suitable environment for you or the baby. But along your journey you proved your maturity. You didn’t let other people’s opinions effect your life. Although your relationship with the adoptive family was odd, I believe giving the baby to Vanessa in the end was the perfect choice. She was mature and capable enough to raise the child, with or without a husband. In hindsight your choice was the perfect fit, and I admire your maturity.

Now in my opinion having the option of publicly funded birth control, and pregnancy choices is imperative for today’s modern society. I believe that some people do not have the capacity to raise a child, and deal with everything that comes with it. On the other hand, others are completely able to go through with pregnancy and raising a child without any major complications. Those who are struggling to even keep themselves afloat have no reason to keep a child. This would cause many more children living in poverty, not being able to completely fulfill their lives. The court case Roe V Wade allows women to act upon their right of choice and privacy. Without it I’m sure there would be countless deaths and injuries due to self-inflicted abortions done wrong. Roe V Wade should be upheld no matter what, because all women have a right to choose.
